This imaginative dessert reinvents two beloved classics by bringing them together in one bite. Crispy you tiao forms the golden exterior, while soft, chewy tang yuan — glutinous rice balls traditionally enjoyed during festivals — are tucked inside for a delightful textural contrast.
Crunchy on the outside, tender and chewy within, this dish is both nostalgic and unexpected. It’s perfect for celebrations like Winter Solstice (Dongzhi), family gatherings, or as a playful dessert that sparks conversation and joy at the table.
