A unique and beautiful recipe featuring your favourite You Tiao and Tau Suan
Basmati Rice 45g
Bandung Rose 800ml
Kesari Masala 2 tsp
Split Mung Beans (washed and soaked) 65g
Pandan Leaves 2 sticks
Agar-Agar Powder 2.5g
Mini Traditional You Tiao
Fresh cut apple
Boil the Bandung Rose and add the Basmati Rice. Cook for 5 minutes. Lower heat and cook simmer, stirring occasionally until rice is cooked and bandung becomes thick.
Add kesari masala, raisins and stir.
Ready a steamer.
Transfer drained mung beans and 1 knotted pandan leaf onto a steaming tray and steam for 10 minutes.
Remove steamed mung beans from steamer, discard pandan leaf.
In a pot, boil water and add pandan leaf, sugar, and salt. Stir well
Add agar-agar powder and stir.
Add mung beans and cook for 5 minutes. Continue to stir well.
Turn off heat and let rest till cool
Meanwhile, slice half the Mini Traditional You Tiao and clean the cavity to ensure room to fill with Tau Suan
Pour in the Tau Suan and let stand in chiller upright to gelatinized
Serve with bandung kheer when ready
Garnish with fresh apples and fruits!
