This DIY spuds bowl takes everything we love about classic loaded baked potatoes and gives it a fun upgrade with You Tiao Chips. Fluffy baked potatoes form the base, topped with warm, saucy baked beans and melted cheese, then finished with a generous handful of crunchy you tiao chips for texture and contrast.
Perfect for sharing, casual meals, or a cosy night in, this dish invites everyone to customise their own bowl — piling on toppings, mixing textures, and enjoying every bite just the way they like it.

Optional extras:
Sour cream or Greek yoghurt,
Spring onions, sliced
Crispy bacon bits or vegetarian crumble
Chilli flakes or black pepper
1. Bake the potatoes
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Scrub the potatoes clean, pat dry, and prick with a fork.
Rub lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Bake directly on the oven rack or tray for 40–45 minutes, until the skins are crisp and the insides are fluffy.
2. Prepare the toppings While the potatoes bake, heat the baked beans gently in a small pot or microwave.
Grate the cheese and set out all toppings in separate bowls for a DIY setup.
3. Assemble the spuds Slice each baked potato open and fluff the insides with a fork.
Spoon over warm baked beans, then scatter generously with grated cheese so it melts slightly from the heat of the potato.
4. Finish with You Tiao Chips Top with a generous handful of You Tiao Chips for crunch.
Add optional toppings like sour cream, spring onions, or chilli flakes to taste.
